When I first began thinking about the topic I would like to write about for this project, I first went to cinematography and thought to compare styles and techniques in two different genres. These would be a news programme or documentary, against a Hollywood feature film.

However, I landed on the topic of gender inequality in the film industry after having  a conversation with Nick, who suggested great starting points; like the female gaze and male domination of the business. Usually being the only girl in my Film and TV class, I feel very connected with this topic as I am often in situations where I find myself feeling slightly isolated and seem to mainly hear about male directors or crew members in high positions.
